“Deborah Nardozzi is a single mom, small business owner, and proven community organizer who has called District 8 home since 2007. She built the South Scottsdale Democrats Club from scratch, helped flip legislative seats that insiders wrote off, and served in the Arizona State House where she was part of the effort to repeal Arizona's 1864 abortion ban.
She is running for Arizona State Senate District 8 because working families in this district are being squeezed by rent that keeps climbing, childcare costs that wipe out a paycheck, and public schools that keep getting asked to do more with less every single budget cycle. She lives these issues as a parent raising two kids through the public school system right here in the district.
Deborah is a coalition builder who understands that the state legislature has real tools and real levers to protect communities from a federal agenda that is coming after their neighbors, their housing, their healthcare, and their families. At a moment when Arizona needs its elected officials pulling together and using every bit of legislative power available to push back against Washington, Deborah is the candidate who knows how to build that coalition and use it.”
Target voters: Democratic primary voters and Democratic leaning independents in South Scottsdale, North Tempe, East Phoenix, NW Mesa, and the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community precincts of Arizona Senate District 8.
Priority issues for this electorate: Housing affordability, fully funded public schools, accessible childcare, reproductive rights, and using state legislative tools to push back against federal overreach.

Deborah Nardozzi is a single mom, small business owner, and proven community organizer running for Arizona State Senate District 8. She has spent years building coalitions, flipping hard electoral seats, and fighting for the working families of this district on housing, schools, and childcare. She served in the Arizona State House and was part of the effort to repeal Arizona's 1864 abortion ban.
Deborah is a coalition builder. She understands that at a moment when the federal government is coming after our neighbors, their families, their housing, and their healthcare, the state legislature has to be a shield and that shield only works when your senator knows how to bring people together and pull every legislative lever available. That is what Deborah has done her entire career and that is exactly what she is taking to the State Senate.
The incumbent, Senator Lauren Kuby, has taken the opposite approach. She voted against SB 1229 and SB 1431, affordable housing bills that would have helped families in District 8 who are being priced out of their own neighborhoods. She has burned community bridges rather than building them, blocked development that would have brought jobs and investment to the district, and met community concerns with ridicule rather than collaboration. At a moment when District 8 needs a senator who can organize and fight back, the incumbent has spent her time in office making that harder.
Contrast message: District 8 needs a bridge builder in the State Senate, someone who can rally a coalition, use every legislative tool available, and protect this community from a federal agenda that is making daily life harder for working families. Deborah Nardozzi has spent her life doing exactly that. Lauren Kuby has spent hers burning the bridges this district needs.
